Rather than move, the clients opted to combine two suites to accommodate active lifestyle of a family of four with stay-at-home mom and frequent, large-scale entertaining schedule. Once a series of boxy, disconnected rooms typical of their 15 - plus year heritage, this celebration of downtown condominium living now boasts the sleek angular aesthetics and functionality of 21st Century design.Working area visually defined by drop ceiling featuring recessed pot lights and ambient rope lights, thus retaining sense of fluid interconnectivity with eating/lounging areas. Inlaid pattern of oval glass, mosaic tiles in white ceramic backsplash repeats the shape of cabinets and hood fan creating a pleasing visual rhythm. Centre island's granite countertop is single, seamless slab incorporating the 21st Century design sink. Lower, inset eating bar encourages younger family members to gather for conversation during meal prep and meets clients' need for a social hub when entertaining.Crisp and angular, kitchen's minimalist design is consistent with homes' location in upscale, metropolitan centre populated primarily by well-heeled, well-traveled urbanites.
Thanks for the follow up. Happy to report that all is well and our family is enjoying our home very much. There is always lots of compliments whenever we have guests over.
