How To Deep Clean Your Home - Read this home renovation insight now.
It's a new year, with new goals, enter it with a sparkling house. Here is a quick and easy guide on how to deep clean your home after the holiday season.
The first step is to plan your start date! Stop procrastinating! It is best to start on the weekend and then finish the task throughout the week. All you need to do is set aside half an hour each day for one week to deep clean every room.
Pick up everything off the floor, including the hidden objects that have started lives of their own beneath the couch, coffee table and radiator covers.Remove anything that does not belong in the room — other people’s stuff, your kids toys, mystery dishes, your partners stray socks etc. — and return them to their rightful places.
Dust accumulates quickly especially during the holiday period. Once you have made your plan of attack start up that vacuum and begin to remove dust bunnies . If you have a good vacuum with attachments this will make life a lot easier. If not, don't panic. Pick up a duster and start dusting away.Laura Gaskill (Houzz contributor) shares her plan of attack:
Fresh clean rugs and clean floors make a huge difference in how the room looks and feels.
Drop off area rugs to be cleaned, schedule a steam cleaner for carpeting if needed, and mop or polish hardwood floors.
Clean all mirrors and windows and once you can begin to see your reflection on every surface. light some candles, sit back and relax. Because in approximately 15 minutes your kids will ruin all of your hard work!!
Remember daily maintenance is the key. Every night spend half an hour tidying up before bed, this will help keep your home looking spectacular all year long.
